Summer Photo Sessions Around Montreal You Can’t Miss This Year!

Although hard to believe, we can say Summer is finally here—and with it, we welcome fun and adventure! As someone who grew up in the Caribbean, I’ll admit I miss having warm, sunny weather year-round. Imagine being able to head to the beach (or lake), run through flower fields or hike up a mountain any weekend of the year.

That said, there’s something so special about summer in Montreal. Maybe it’s the way we savor every warm day to the fullest. And as a photographer, this season is my absolute favorite—outdoor photo sessions are vibrant, playful, and full of life. Kids can run around, you can wear outfits that reflect the season (hello, Color Analysis!), and the light is just magic.

So if you’ve been thinking about updating your family photos or treating yourself to a maternity or family session, here are a few photo session ideas around Montreal you won’t want to miss this summer:

🌷 Tulip or Lavender field photo session

With over 800.00 tulips, the tulip field located in Laval leaves you breathless. It is such a magical and colourful place where you can pick your own tulips from a multiple variety of colours. It's an ideal spot for maternity or family photos, especially since they close at 6 p.m., making it perfect for little ones who need to be in bed early.

Lavender fields in Saint-Eustache bloom in June and create a similarly dreamy, romantic setting. Just imagine the soft purples plus golden hour—chef’s kiss.

🏖️ Beach photo session

Okay, Montreal may not have ocean beaches, but our lakes can definitely give off that beachy vibe—especially in photos. When my husband took me there (Cap-Saint-Jacques) for the first time, I couldn’t believe how nice and magical it was. It is definitely a hidden gem and I am all for a session here! If you want a more relaxed photo session where you can dip your toes in this nice and fresh water, have a nice walk in the little forest or even enjoy a quiet family picnic under the golden sunset, a beach summer photo session is the one for you!

🌳 Park photoshoot

Montreal has so many beautiful parks, all with different scenery and aspects you could highlight from them.
• Westmount Park has stunning cherry blossoms in the spring.

• Angrignon Park is perfect for long walks around its peaceful lake.

• Maisonneuve Park has wide-open fields that are perfect for kids who love to run wild.

• ‎⁨Félix-Leclerc Park is definitely an incredible one we discovered last year. I was blown away by its magical little forest and grandiose weeping willow at the top of a little hill. There are also water games and a nice play area for the kiddos. Located on the East side of Montreal, it’s definitely on my must-visit list for sessions this summer—I can’t wait to go back! I mean, look at this beauty 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

What I love about park sessions is how real they feel. Your kids won’t feel like they’re at a photoshoot—they’ll be playing, exploring, laughing, and just being themselves. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but mostly I’ll be snapping away while you enjoy each other’s company and just stay true to yourselves.

🍓 Fruit picking photo session

This one’s still on my photography bucket list for 2025—so if it sounds like your kind of session, let’s make it happen!
